Rating: Summary: High Energy Advice Review: I am no great fan of phsychobabble and so approached this book with some scepticism. Psychobabble IT IS NOT. It one of the most practical and useful books on lifestyle management on the market today. It is of relevance across a broad spectrum.Short, easy to access, everyone can identify with some aspect of this book and draw both inspiration and validation for practical life management changes that indeed will give you more energy.Read a chapter a day on the tube and act on it.I thoroughly recommend it!
Rating: Summary: Have a better life Review: I read most of this book whilst waiting for my car to be repaired - it was that gripping. It is easy to read and doesn't force its ideas on anyone not ready for them - but it does speak directly to those who aren't ready as well as those who are. There are a number of really easy ways you can significantly improve the quality of your life, including first of all listening to the `little voice' before it becomes a Problem. Suggestions are grouped - `Clear the clutter', for instance (not ready for that one yet ....), and `slow down to speed up'. Specific suggestions include having a `mid-week weekend', spending less time with people who make you feel bad, and more with the others, and taking considered risks. The book is well written, with a lot of thought-provoking passages designed to move you on gently if you aren't quite ready yet, but at the same time it avoids taking a hectoring tone or alienating you in any other way - a very useable book.

Rating: Summary: Who doesn't want more energy! Review: I really liked the author's approach to developing habits that will give us more energy to accomplish what we want in life. He gives us simple steps that we can follow and instructs us to take what we can from the book. I jumped right into the habits that appealed to me and began incorporating them into my day. I found it simple to do and began seeing results immediately. With all the diet and exercise books on the market today, I found this approach of paying attention to how we respond to the little things in life to increase energy a refreshing alternative.
Rating: Summary: Life can be so easy! Review: If you wish more energy in life you should read this book! Especially if you are lazy and do not want to do MORE but LESS in your life! The book shows in an easy-reading and practical way how to slow down to get faster and how to get rid of home-made energy-thieves in your daily life. Reading only made me feel more energetic and following up some of the ideas and exercises feels even better. Great gift for some of my friends...
Rating: Summary: A coaching book with an energising difference Review: Last June I had the pleasure of hearing Bill talk at a Coaching Circle. I bought his book but it is only recently that I have taken the time to read it. I would like to congratulate Bill on writing such an inspiring and motivating book. It probably helped that I had met him but his `regular British guy' approach, offering valuable and personal insights really worked for me. It is a coaching book but by focusing on energy he adds a new dimension and appeals to a wider audience. He applies grounded logic to areas that are often construed as spiritual and mystic. He reveals his vulnerability in a very charming way which many men will relate to. His use of lists and approaches to problems sparked off new ideas for me as I don't typically think the way he suggests. And even though I don't have children, his chapter on `children as energy drains' was excellent and useful for getting to know my partner's American based, 8 year old daughter. A concise, stimulating and uplifting read with great ideas and exercises to get your life in order and to feel happier. Jane Emmanuel, Executive Coach

Rating: Summary: extremely practical Review: This reminds me of the classic 'How to Win Friends and Influence People' in the sense that what Bill Ford presents is pretty much common sense... but it's stuff you probably don't think about all the time, so it's really helpful to have a reminder. I'm a fairly high-energy person in the way that Ford writes about it, and I attribute a lot of my energy to some of the habits Ford suggests. I also see a few things in this book that I don't do but that I'm definitely going to try because they look very interesting and useful.
I actually got this book from the library because I know someone who complains about not having enough energy all the time and the title caught my eye. Not only am I going to get her a copy, I'm also going to purchase a copy for myself so that I can read segments of it every now and then as mini refresher courses.
If you've taken the time to find this book on Amazon you may already be a high-energy person, but I would be surprised if you already practice all of what Ford preaches. It's well worth a read, even if you think you don't need it. And if you know someone who needs more energy, this book would make a great gift (assuming you're comfortable enough with the person to offer a self-help book as a gift and not have it taken as an insult, of course).
