Summary: ONE READ AND NOW I KNOW HOW TO LIVE A DREAM!
Review: I never thought I could read a book and learn how to actually live a dream. But I did. This is the best 30 bucks a person who loves to travel could possibly spend. This book is full of ideas and listings that are critical to seeing America on my terms. If you want to know how to live your travel dream...you should read this book. Hats off to Mr. Chilton for sharing his expertise and experience. Now I can see America!

Summary: "Know the Concepts and Know the Basics"
Review: Several years ago, Mr. Chilton hit upon a terrific idea with his delivery business and idea to spread the word. However, this book is so widely sold that the market for new drivers is very limited, if not all together impossible to find if you only hold a basic "operator's license" for your driving needs. Mr. Chilton makes it look like the need for a CDL "A" or "B" license is not really needed to drive these RVs, and for the most part this is very true in most cases. Many states allow YOU to DRIVE a vehicle up to 26,000 lbs GVW without an additional license endorsement. In making calls to the many manufacturers at my own costs, I find that they are looking for either a CDL License plus additional endorsements and several years of over the road experience for them to even consider using a new driver for their deliveries. For us, this book has been a waste of time and money for what we have received from it. So, "caveat emptor"...let the buyer beware, requires buyers to inspect fully and carefully.

Summary: Good Idea, Stale Info
Review: The author's idea (Make a living by delivering RVs and specialty vehicles) is great, but free (he describes it on his website). The value of the book would be the contact info for 4000 manufacturers, dealers and transport services.

But this info was stale when the last printing was made, in 2002. At that time, most of the phone numbers in my geography (WA) had already changed area codes 3 years before. Therefore, the book has phone numbers that were already out of date.

Advice to potential buyers: Read his website, use yellow pages to find potential customers, skip the book. (And don't hold your breath, I've made 45 contacts with one possible employment opportunity).
