Rating: Summary: Goal Setting! Review: I am a school counselor and have used this book in teaching Goal Setting and Decision Making skills. My school was hit by a tornado three years ago and I have been unable to find this book. My students loved it, it was very motivating. Please reprint at a reasonable cost! I need it for classroom guidance!
Rating: Summary: Re-print this book Random House! Review: I read every week to a young inner-city boy, and by far the best book that we've ever read is this book--and I wanted to buy it for him as a present for his graduation from elementary school. If anyone has access to a copy that I could purchase for this gift, please e-mail me a message to:Drey_Samuelson@Johnson.Senate.Gov In my strongly-held view, this book should be put back in print and copies should be mailed out to every inner-city school in the country (EVERY school in the country, if funds would permit). Better yet, a video of Michael Jordan speaking passages of it to the camera should be sent to every inner-city school in the country so that it can be shared with classes. I found it inspiring myself, and I'm 47 years old...
Rating: Summary: This book changed my life. Review: My mother bought this book for me in 95 when i was still in high school. I really feel that what sets Jordan worlds apart from all other basketball players is his personal understanding of life. This book is very inspirational. He explains how not trying something brings him pain. This is why it seems that he plays basketball by himself. He's pushing himself so often. Tiger Woods has adopted this same view of life with golf. But beyond sports its a superb belief for life that makes you think twice about only devoting "what's necessary to get by". This book literally inspires you to do twice as much. You will get ahead with this book. Overall this is a great book for most young people since everyone I know looks up to Mr. Jordan. Outside of his profession he's a great person and kids need more people like him to look up to.

Rating: Summary: I Can't Accept Not Trying Review: This book is an excellent resource for classroom use. I have read this to my middle school students at the start of every year. What a surprise to them to know that these are Jordan's words ( I keep the author a secret so they can figure it out). This has been an inspiration to me! We need it back in print!
Rating: Summary: An important and powerful educational teaching tool Review: This book is an important and powerful teaching tool that has been invaluable, to me as a middle school teacher of reading, in teaching lifeskills, strategies for school success, self-esteem and self-discipline. Middle school youngsters love the book and can relate to it and understand it well. The book lends itself to invigorating and enlightening group discussions. I have been using it for the last 3 years, at the beginning of my school year, to start the year in a positive, upbeat and progressive manner. I have developed a curriculum based on the book which I would like to get published. I have shared my teaching techniques, related to this book, with other colleaques. Please re-stock this book ASAP.
Rating: Summary: Reprint a new version of this classic. Review: This book was highly recommended to me. I just wish I could get an opportunity to read it. It seems as if there is a market for it. How can we get it back on the store shelves and into the hands of the people that want to read it?
Rating: Summary: I Can't Accept This Book Being Out of Print Review: This is a must read for young adolescents. If anyone knows how to get a copy or two, please email me and let me know. Thank you. My email addy is jrosslaguna@aol.com
Rating: Summary: An easy and excellent read for all ages about life's basics. Review: This little black book of few pages is written in a simple and straightforward style. It is not about basketball, it is not about relationships, it is not about winning. This book is about feeling good about yourself no matter who you are, no matter how talented, no matterhow young or old, it is written for either male or female. I have given at least 20 copies of this book away as gifts. Had I known it would go out of print I would have bought more. I read from it to children as young as 5 and as old as 90. Getting back up after a failed attempt, learning the basics of what you want to succeed in, and playing well together as a team. Jordan reminds us in this book that though he can walk on air he usually relies on the basics of the game of basketball; dribble, pivot, pass and shoot. Slam dunks are fine but in a pinch the basics are what carries him. He also tell the reader that there are many excellent ball players out there but the reason the Bulls have had a sustained championship status is that they learned to play together as a team. A must for anyone who wants to succeed or who wants to motivate and coach others to success. I have found that kids listen when I read from the book because it was written by Michael Jordan.
