It is filled with well written, clear, and compelling critiques of mainstream psychological approaches. This book isn't "critical," but offers a "critique," which means it pushes the underlying assumptions of psychology to their limit and explores their implications. My students really benefited from the perspective, and it created a lot of good conversations in class.
