Summary: Only crips and concies reviews will do for this masterpiece.
Review: This book is just so clear and there is nothing in it that does not hang together.

I can only recommend that you read it. It is not possible to sum up. I will only say that it places the obvious -- the obvious which has been lost sight of -- in an intelligent, clear and extremely well argued and documented perspective.

A small technical flaw:

"yishuv", a settlement, does not come from the Hebrew root "to return" (Shav) but from the Hebrew root "to sit, hence settle" (yashav). This is just for the pedantic reader. Otherwise I cannot find any flawas with a single one of the many arguments.

Well done and thank you Mr. Dershowitz!

Summary: Case Made
Review: Mr. Dershowitz makes the Case for Israel in clear, concise and factually correct information. It's about time that people understand it's not Israel who's at fault.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Cogently argued - a *must read*!
Review: I've had my doubts about Mr. Dershowitz in the past - I haven't always agreed with his domestic politics - but this book is pure gold!

Each point he makes is short and to the point.

This will be especially useful to college students who are constantly beset by the anti-Israel forces on today's campuses and don't have ready replies to the pro-Arab lies bandied about...

Summary: Al's comic flair shines through
Review: I read this book with great interest. I think we were all expecting Al to put out a book defending Israel as a PR move given how public opinion turned against Israel last year. I appreciate how extensive many of his explanations are. However, I had to stop myself from laughing at some points in the book where he uses a style of laconic denial reminiscent of Graucho Marx to deny some of the charges he lists.

Summary: True Liberals and Free Thinkers
Review: If you're a true Liberal (classic meaning), you'll want to investigate the pros and cons of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict yourself. That means reading items you may not like or agree with.

Be a free thinker with an open mind. Get this book and look at the points it makes. If you agree or disagree, you'll come away with more knowledge than when you started. Liberals and free thinkers should never be afraid to expose themselves to new ideas.

Don't be put off buying this book because it's written by a lawyer. I was doubtful, at first, if it would be a good read or dry and dusty. It's very well written and easy to digest. It's not written in 'lawyerese'.

It's very important to understand this ME conflict. The US is involved in the ME. This conflict comes up again and again.

Don't depend on the news to give you an understanding of the conflict. Use this book to further your understanding. Even if you disagree with it, you'll have knowledge of what some of the "other side's" arguments are.

Summary: Well-researched, well-written, objective
Review: Dershowitz makes an excellent case for Israel, and does it with style. One of the first assertions he makes is that the best solution to the conflict is a two state solution where both Israel and the future Palestine may live freely and in peace with each other, with explanations why no other option is feasible or moral. Using this as a basis for discussion, and drawing on his liberal and libertarian philosophies, Dershowitz goes on to examine the accusations frequently leveled against Israel, tackling one per chapter, and then dissects and defeats them. A strength of this book is that Dershowitz draws from traditionally anti-Israel and neutral sources to make his arguments, never relying on pro-Israel sources for crucial information, yet still manages to turn the accusations on their heads, proving them both factually incorrect and logically inconsistent.

This book is a must for anyone trying to make sense of the Arab-Israeli conflict, especially since it provides a different perpective from the one you receive on college campuses around the country.

Summary: BUY THIS BOOK
Review: If you ever wanted to cut through the propaganda on both sides, and find a book that just explains things in a clear and concise way, BUY THIS BOOK!

Summary: Get The Facts - Not The Rhetoric
Review: Confused about the issues regarding the Israelis and the Palestinians? Have you heard slogans and rhetoric only?Pick up this book to help end your confusion.

Have you already made up your mind about this conflict? You still should get this book because it may contain facts you're unaware of.

Written in a very readable style by one of our country's best lawyers, this book takes you step by step through the issues and helps provide answers. Well researched.

Summary: A Book for Those Who Seek the Truth
Review: After reading Professor Dershowitz's detailed and intense treatise, my anger rises at the deliberate fabrications and shibboleths that permeate the media at the behest of "balanced reporting" and "political correctness". Professor Dershowitz, in logical and detailed fashion, deconstructs and smashes the myths propogated by the uninformed media and more malevolent purveyors of Palestinian revisionism.

... Bravo to Professor Dershowitz for writing one of the fairest, eloquent and truthful commentaries as to the Israel-Palestinian dispute.

Summary: The Case for Israel
Review: Excellent book about the Arab-Israeli conflict. As usual, Allan Dershowitz explains the issues clearly. I highly recomend this book to anyone interested in this most volatile and important region of the world.
