Summary: A Magnificent Piece of Ancient Wisdom
Review: Well how can I rate this classic war and life strategy book as anything less than it is?!? Sun Tzu's The Art of War is a stunning ancient Chinese masterpiece outlining the strategies, forces, weapons, and methods one should use to fight a war. This timeless classic by one of China's greatest military leaders is a must read for any student of wars, modern or ancient. Sun Tzu approaches the book through a series of chapters ranging from diplomacy, to spies, to the use of fire in attacks. Contained within the chapters are a series of points that are layed out in order, justifying, in sort, the way these things work. The book is simple reading and not very long at all, so I recommend it for just about anyone.

Summary: The Art of War is the greatest book ever writing.
Review: This Book is so good because of the history in it and the way you can relate it to every day life. No matter what you do for a living this book can make it a whole new experience.

Summary: Whatever you were looking for, you've found it here.
Review: In ART OF WAR, there is a rare thing in books in which all of it or most of it can relate to many things. If the reader uses some of these war tactics and strategies in the modern world, they may find it easy to relate. Business is war, but in a different scenario than actual battles. Thus it is easy to relate to this book. Even rivals in sports and entertainment can be outwitted by the wisdom in this book. It also adds examples of some actions, which show how these sayings and writings apply to the real world.

So no matter what you were looking for in this book, whether it be business, entertainment, sports, war games, actual wars, or even travel, you can be sure to learn more on how ot attack life here.

The book's age is hard and easy to see at the same time. You can tell that it was written thousands of years ago by what Sun Tzu tells of. (Chariots, gold pieces are currency, etc...), but some of the grammar and language are shown well in the translation in the book, making it easy to read in English as well as other languages you would be able to find the book in.

The only weakness of this book would have to be its accented topic towards foriegn countries, and much older devices. The way to break through this is for the reader to be able to translate it into his/her life.

Summary: The single best translation of Sun Tzu's "The Art of War"
Review: I bought this book out of curiosity, as I have read several translations. This one took the cake. It is easy to read and more complete than any of the other Translations I have read. And the section on the life and times of Sun Tzu is excellent. I put this book on my shelf as a handy reference. And Thank you Sameul Griffith for this excellent book.

Summary: A rather poor translation of The Art of War.
Review: As a lifetime student of the Chinese classics, I am very well aware that Sun Tzu's teachings are both profound and practical. Unfortunately, this translation is of very little help to the reader in understanding how to effectively utilize the art of strategy. Moreover, the book has some critical mis-translations which are likely to confuse the reader and lead him astray.

Summary: It can take a life, to learn the ideas included.
Review: I just don't have a review, but I can tell how it added me value. Working in the business management area, I had and I will have to deal, with customers, suppliers, the market, employees, etc, etc. and in this field there are daily decisions, also you have your own personal needs, so the analogy between war, and your own career inside the company, or the company inside the market, is really amazing. Just a lot of lessons you can add and make your smart moves in this fields

Summary: this is an old book on High Emotional Intelligence
Review: Many of the suggestions and explanations are to be used by a person with high emotional Intelligence, for example when it mentions that the commander (president or manager) qualifications should be: wisdom, knowledge of himself, being tranquil, self-discipline, able to control his anger (not easily angered), not hasty to act, not arrogant ; many of these qualities are part of the many attributes of high emotional Intelligence; thus this is another way to point us in the right direction to learn how to manage our co-associates (co-workers) better and obtain a good re-Engineering in the business place. Good luck and see you at the top

Summary: Ancient Chinese General's Military Philosophies!
Review: The Art of War is one of the most worthwhile books that I have set my eyes upon. This is a masterpiece that may serve as a guide to many problems faced in our own surroundings. Ralph D. Sawyer, who wrote a new translation to General Sun-tzu's military philosophies, helps readers understand the mind of Sun-tzu. I felt that this book was a guide to approach problems in everyday life and how to conquer many situations with a thoughtful mind-set. "A Must Read" book for anyone, due to its way of speaking to the auidience. It is the words of Sun-tzu as if he had handed you his personal manuscript to read for yourself. "Read this book, you will not be disappointed."

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A must read for all strategists - both military and civilian
Review: This book contains writings from an ancient master whose words have withstood the test of time. Concise and poignant, Art of War holds meaning for anyone involved in developing strategies. While clearly written for military doctrinal purposes, Sun Tzu's teachings can be utilized in the business world as well.

This book is a must for any decision maker's library.
