Summary: An Outstanding Resource for Poles and Polish Emigres
Review: For a long time, the anti-Polish slant of most publically-shown Holocaust-related material has been noticed by Poles, as well as others familiar with the actual history of the Holocaust. As a Polish-American, I found this book especially eye-opening in explaining WHY this anti-Polish slant exists. It is clearly agenda-driven. Whether you are Polish or not, this book is must reading for anyone interested in truth!

Summary: Courageous and Honest : breaks a Taboo
Review: Prof. Finkelstein has written here a book about the financial and political exploitation of the holocaust of the Jews. He dares to breaks taboos and to make hidden truths public. He documents how some Jewish organizations have enormously exaggerated the number of Jewish survivors to extort more money and finally to make abuse of it when they do not use it for the survivors – as they had promised – but for their own political interests. This can indeed be truly considered as being extremely scandalous. True, Finkelstein says nothing new, this was already known to a small elite. P>I really loved the book, congratulate Finkelstein for it and also recommend a few other relevant books. First a highly academic book that much goes further in breaking these taboo’s, Ernst Gauss ‘Dissection the Holocaust : The Growing Critique of "Truth" and "Memory", with contributions of many top-researchers, a must and treasure for the intellectuals who are really open-minded (the others can better forget about it). Second I also recommend the many books of the other great American Jew, the intellectual Noam Chomsky, as well as the books of the Israeli Israel Shahak

Summary: Keep an open, honest mind
Review: Dr. Finkelstein's work is well-researched. If you have any beef with his thesis or the points he makes, you can read the works he cites (I've done it as much as is reasonable) and you'll find, as I have, that his arguments are right-on.

I live in Israel, and this book touches a subject that is totally taboo here. Most people here who have heard of this book dismiss it out of hand as nonsense without even reading it. I sense in many of them a sense of guilt and shame because they know that there is something true and insightful in what Dr. Finkesltein postulates, but they are afraid to read for themselves. The consequences on their consciences, and on their perspective on their nation, will be too frightful to face up to.

If anyone knows where I can find this work in Israel (I smuggled in my copy from Zurich), please let me know. I just realized what will make the perfect Hannukah gift for my crochety old grandfather.

Summary: Well-Written Expose of Holocaust-Related Falsehoods
Review: Finkelstein exposes many eye-opening facts about the untruths that have accreted around the Holocaust. For instance, he criticizes Jerzy Kosinski for his book, The Painted Bird. Finkelstein exposes the falsehood of Kosinski's claim that Jews hiding in the swamps from the Germans were attacked by local Poles. Must reading!

Summary: Let it come out into the open
Review: Mr. Finkelstein is a man with a mission. He wrote a polemic and takes no prisoners. His book is a collection of quotations from various media and he tries to interpret them. His fight is with all the Jewish organizations that collect billions of dollars and hardly pass any of that money on to those who actually suffered under the holocaust and are in dire need of support. He points out the escalation of this "industry" with the blackmailing of the Swiss banks and now of German corporations. He shows us that the millions of Romas, communists, socialists, handicapped, gays, etc. killed by Hitler are left out because "holocaust" has become a ....

This book is a call to arms against further blackmail and for the accountability of the Jewish organizations. It must not be compared with what other nations did in the past, becausenobody is ... and there would be no end to it. ....

Summary: Corageous position on the Holocaust
Review: Basing his analysis on a patiently collected series of facts and documents, Norman Finkelstein objectively describes how the marketing of the "Holocaust Industry" is being implemented. This man must be admired for his lone opposition to a powerful lobby. His essay is concise and vigorous, his style makes it a pleasant and captivating lecture.

Summary: An honorable scholar speaks out
Review: I just finished Norman Finkelstein's excellent expose of the Holocaust industry, and cannot recommend it too strongly. I could not put the book down. In clear and concise language, the author illustrates the shameful hypocrisy of public figures who either exploit the Holocaust for their own enrichment (e.g., Elie Wiesel), or for the benefit of organizations such as the World Jewish Congress (Edgar Bronfman & Israel Singer). The author's documentation of the facts presented is incredibly meticulous. I found it especially distressing to learn that billions of dollars given by the German and Swiss governments to Jewish organizations specifically for subsequent distribution to holocaust survivors, have instead been used by those organizations for their pet projects. While these organizations claim to represent the interests of needy Holocaust survivors, they in fact use survivors' compensation monies to endow holocaust chairs at universities, among other things. In effect, Holocaust industry organizations like the WJC use the Holocaust to extort compensation from European countries, never intending to share the proceeds with the survivors they claim to represent. Everyone interested in the Nazi holocaust and concerned with the plight of its survivors should make a point of reading this book.

Summary: Excellent book - recommended reading
Review: Very good book - read the other reviews thez summarize my opinion. In the wake of Noam Chomsky books. A must read to understand how marketing is applied to modern causes and how facts are so different from propaganda.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Worthwhile..........if you also read the books he criticizes
Review: The work is extremely well researched. Having read the books by many of the authors Mr. Finkelstein criticizes, I must admit he makes valid points about their work.

Most importantly, the book offers harsh and clearly presented criticism of the United States' double standard in dealing with its own past, and that of its allies. Harsh as it may be, Mr. Finkelstein's criticism of how the USA has dealt with the enslavement of blacks, the destruction of the Native Americans, the lost bank accounts of Holocaust victims in US banks, and Israel's treatment of Palestinians is well founded.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A must-read
Review: Professor Finkelstein's book is the perfect antidote to the shameful "Shoah business" that denigrates the memory of the victims.

Read this book if you have a strong heart and are not afraid to have some of your illusions shattered. I was shocked, and even appalled, when I first read about how the Holocaust can be used as a political weapon, but Finkelstein did a good job of showing this.

Highly recommended.
