Summary: GREAT DETAIL, MOST INFORMATIVE
Review: Incredible amount of detail. More information than I have ever read before. Great organization. Very well done.

Summary: Save your money
Review: Oh what a disappointment this book was for me. Please save your money for something that is better than this one. This book is very poorly written and badly in need of an editor, numerous typos, etc. throughout the book. Very bias one-sided 'reporting' includes a so-called chronology of events that is laughable for its selective use of material.

Summary: Great place to start
Review: I was in eighth grade when we were told JFK was shot - in the temple. It wasn't until I read the Warren Commission Report five years later that I realized THEY changed history, and said he was shot in the back of the head. While I've read a bookcase full of plots and theories this one is a great basic text. The only negative is it gets bogged in the medical.

New evidence has brought to light some strange connections between the Paines (who housed Marina and Lee Harvey Oswald)and some others like CIA Cord Meyer. (whose ex wife was murdered just after the JFK assassination.

Summary: Not Worth It
Review: This book is full of typographical errors. Fetzer's writing style is confusing and sometimes disjointed. I would not recommend it.

Summary: He missed it!!!
Review: If you want to know who fired the fatal shot in Dealey Plaza on November 22, 1963 get a copy of the Zapruder video and look at the driver of the limo as he turns and fires the fatal shot! Get other books on the Kennedy assasination that have the kill shot photo (frame 313) and look at the driver. The Secret Service was in on the plan! But they had help. There were two other gunmen in Dealey Plaza and a total of 4 shots fired at Kennedy. One was fired from the grassy knoll that wounded him in the throat and 2 of them were fired from behind the limousine, not the school book depository building, hitting Texas Governor John Connally. The 4th and fatal shot was fired by the Limousine driver. Check it out for yourself! Don't just believe me! Investigate it!

Summary: These people are sharp.
Review: James Fetzer has gathered for this book (as well as his previous Assassination Science) the work of some of the world's best minds as they investigate the death of JFK. If you think Sherlock Holmes' deductive powers cannot be surpassed, think again. I never cease to be amazed at the level of insight displayed by people such as David Mantik, David Lifton, Douglas Horne and Douglas Weldon. My hat's off to them.

Fake autopsy X-rays and photos, fake Zapruder film, fake limousine, and (probably) faked wounds on body. And the book gives a detailed, detached and scientific explanation for every assertion. You learn more about how the world really works (especially how common it is for average people to lie and alter evidence) in this book than just about anywhere else. A true civics lesson.

It is a book to be read many times.

Summary: Trying too hard...
Review: I am a consummate reader and was very excited to delve into this book. However, once opened, I was startlingly disappointed. With the exception of the very interesting timeline provided in the second chapter, the rest of the book is scattered, inconclusive and even confusing. Am I the only one who had trouble understanding the direction? I would compare this book to the German language: it rambles on without getting to the verb (or the POINT) until the very end, at which point you're too exhausted to care.

Summary: We need to Know More
Review: The best thing to result from the Oliver Stone movie "JFK", is greater interest in who killed JFK. For years many of us accepted the "family approved version" as published by William Manchester. While I don't accuse Manchester of involvement, many of the "facts" as reported in "The Death of a President" do not stand up to the light of day. This book will be most useful to individuals who have read the Manchester Book, Norman Mailer's "Oswald's Ghost", or any of a number of other research books on the subject. While some are JUNK and focus on SLANDER, they are worth reviewing for their tone and nuggets of fact.

Summary: fascinating and convincing
Review: I have read with fascination and indignation both this book and Assassination Science. Anyone who can read either volume and yet still believe the farce that was the Warren Report is ripe for further deception by our own governmental agencies. The essays here are cogent, logical, documented, and thorough. The contributors should be seen as patriots in the true sense of that term. They have added insight and sober analysis to this case that will not and should not die...until the truth finally sets us free. After reading this book, most intelligent readers will agree with Dr. Cyril Wecht that the Warren Report should be moved to the fiction shelves of the nation's libraries.

Summary: Reading this will help you know what your missing.
Review: Over the past 20 years I have been reading over 35 books on the JFK assassination and the information presented has basically been the same in each book. That was until now, James Fetzer has written a book that brings to light new evidence and new ideas and this book is certainly one to have.

Over 465 page updated with the most current information available the author takes you back to that fateful day in Dallas and brings to life one of the most tragic and horrific murders in American history.

The book makes you see things differently and is very eye opening in the approach to the evidence. The author's breakdown of the day of the shooting is nothing short of amazing and his attention to the details makes the reading go very fast, I finished the book in just over 3 hours.

There is complete examination of the medical evidence and the roll of the Secrete Service and well as a comprehensive assessment of the Zapruder film, frame by frame. Also the author's inspection of photographs, medical reports and other evidence makes this one of the most complete works around.

After sifting through the entire manuscript and objectively examining what you read you may be able to put to rest the mystery once and for all. Overall one the best book on the subject I have ever read.
