Summary: Pop Culture Based On One Man's Opinions
Review: I'm a big fan of pop culture so I really expected to love this book. Unfortunately, Mr. Epstein has a lot of factual errors (for instance, he identifies the Massachusetts Governor who ran against George Bush in 1988 as "George Dukakis". He missed A LOT of the defining music of the 80's yet thinks his readers remember the Butthole Surfers and Alan O'Day (go ahead, "who?").

He also injects his opinion far too much. ...

I'm sorry I spent the money on this biased and flawed book - a true representation of our American pop Culture should be factual, not opinion based. And those facts should have been checked a little better.

Summary: Fantastic book a direct time warp to your youth and beyond
Review: What a great book! Dan Epstein has collected the most popular fads, fashions, celebs, TV shows, movies, etc. in American culture and compiled them in this gorgeous 250+ pags book. Featuring info on conceivably every piece of pop culture, this book has great pictures and wonderful tidbits. I personally tested this book by looking for some of the most obscure things I could think of in pop culture and lo and behold there they were! Although more info and pics on 1900-1945 would have been nice, in all this book in an indespensible guide to the things you thought you'd see again!
