Rating: Summary: The horse's mouth Review: It would require a knowledge of farsi and a great deal of time spent searching the archives of the Islamic Republic of Iran to verify much of what President Bani-Sadr asserts in this book. However it has the virtue of corresponding to facts and realities regarding American and Israeli involvement in the Persian Gulf War (aka the Iran-Iraq war) which are difficult to explain in any other way. Some of the details may not be exactly correct, and Bani-Sadr may be a more fallible and opportunistic character in reality than is the self-portrait presented in this book, but this is an important testimony from one of the best-placed eyewitnesses to a successfully buried political scandal of immense proportions.Had that scandal been exposed in all of its ramifications in time, the second and third Persian Gulf wars (aka Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Fiefdom - er, Freedom) may have been avoided, given that these wars were also schemes engineered by the same infernal alliance of Zionists, Islamists and Big Oil that brought about the first Persian Gulf War.
