Rating: Summary: "Paramarine!" an objective review Review: This book has very good layout, photography and text. It is disappointing there are so many accuracy errors in it. There are too many to list here but these are the worst; Pg. 97; an army T5 'chute rig is shown despite the fact that the author confirms they weren't used by the navy or USMC. Why show one then? Pg. 111; Text describes boots in photo as army "jump boots". By regulation, army jump boots have a 3 piece sole and beveled heel. Boots in photo have neither and are actually engineer boots. Pg. 118; a USMC haversack is described as a "musette bag". Pg. 133; "USMC" etching on knife blade is shown upside down (oops!).; Pg.176; US Navy aviation machinist mate is described as aviation boatswains mate (unforgiveable!). Pg. 184; "parachute man" qualification patch for regular navy blue jumper is described as for USMC dress blues. USMC Dress blue insignia is gold on scarlet red (oops!). Nice camouflage gear photos but has been done before. A nice addition if you are into the subject but not a must have and too many errors.JW
