Rating: Summary: I recommand it Review: This is probably the best military aircrafts reference book under the price of $20. The military aircraft guide is arranged alphabetically by the maker's name (For an example, Rafale is under 'D', Dassault). If you don't know the maker, you can simply look it up in the index. While one picture per aircraft isn't enough to make this book as a recognition guide, the book does have many original photos. Each listing has "Country of origin", "Type", "Powerplant", "Performance", "Weights", "Dimensions", "Accommodation", "Armament", "Operators", "History", "Photo". Since only half of a page is dedicated to each type, it's certainly not as detailed as those aviation enclclopedia. However it's more than adequate as a quick reference. Like previous editions, this one has a "World Air Power Guide", which lists the numbers of different aircrafts for each nation. It's by no means 100% accurate and specific enough, but it gives you a rough idea about any nations' overall air force strength. The new section of UAV and aircraft carriers are nice, but too short (one page each, 5 UAVs & 6 carriers). Overall, a very good directory worth having for all aviation fans.

Rating: Summary: The newest in a wonderful series Review: This latest in the biennial series continues the fine tradition of providing excellent aircraft information for a great price. This series has eclipsed the Janes pocket guides on my reference shelf and will likely continue to do so for years to come. The companion guide to Civil Aircraft is also worth the moola if this is your sort of thing. Once again, the only thing I find lacking is the absence of the three way line drawings for recognition purposes, but I'll settle for the nice pictures and detailed info provided.

Rating: Summary: Great Reference, for a great price Review: Very thorough, nice pictures, detailed information. Not quite as good as Jane's All the World's Aircraft, but a whole lot cheaper.
