Rating: Summary: Great thought provoking book Review: This is a great book on the history of Latin America. In each of the chapters, the author goes back into Ancient Greece to explain the views Latin Americans generally have towards the State, women, blacks, the economy and education, among other things. Although I'm not sure he's 100% right, I do believe, like him, that Latin America's problems come from its ancient roots, as it is, a continent founded by robbers and mercenaries. It is definitely a must read for any person doing work across Latin America. Much better and interesting read than the Perfect Latin American Idiot (although that is an interesting book as well).
