Summary: A Truly Formidable Weapon of War
Review: Not much can really be said about this publication other than that it is a must have book for anyone who has an interest in the German Tiger Tank. To me this was the 'tank' of WW2, a truly formidable weapon. This is mainly a photo history of the Tiger I on the Russian Front with limited text. The photographs were excellent and numerous, many never seen before. The book offered some great shots of the Tiger I in action. Jean Restayn has also supplied a number of colour drawings showing the markings and camouflage patterns for each German unit that crewed Tigers in Russia. The overall presentation from Histoire & Collections make this a very nice title for any serious WW2 buff. Not as detailed as some of the current books published by J.J. Fedorowicz but a whole lot cheaper! This is the type of book that you can just pick up and browse through and admire this massive tank in action. One of the photographs shows a Tiger with an awesome amount of hits against its armour and its still operational (I won't tell you how many as that will spoil it). It really makes you appreciate why it was such a feared weapon by the Allies.

Summary: More for Modelers - unique photo's however.
Review: This book and its companion (Tiger 1 on the Western Front), are excellent compilations of photographs of the dreaded Tiger 1 tank (PzVI). That being said, the titles should read "A modelers guide to the Tiger 1 on the..." Overall, I enjoyed these books because you could read them in about 1 hour, and then spend the time pouring over the photos with a magnifying glass. There are some fantastic shots of the Tigers in action. Unfortunately, there is not much in the way of military information, armament details, AAR's or other. Excellent book, but I'd have been much happier if it had been about [price] cheaper.

For the true Tiger die hard, skip these and put your money towards "Tigers in Action"

Summary: A real good reference for modelers who have all the books...
Review: This book really was a break from the ordinary. Being a modeler, I have a lot of books about panzers, particlularly about the Tiger IE. This books focusses on the tank through photos, many of them unpublished. All the photos are divided in Chapters about every division (waffen SS en regular panzerdiv.) using Tigers in Russia. The photos are in cronological order and have good texts providing the photos with good information. A great addition to my collection of reference books, because my other books focus more on the technical aspects rather then the historical aspects of this famous predator of world war 2. A must!

Review: This is the most complete book of tiger tank photos I have ever seen. Not to much to read but has some intresting information.If you like photos of the most feared tank of ww2 this book is a must have.

Summary: Exceptional Photographic Collection of "Tiger I"
Review: When I ordered this book, I did not have much to expect because I will buy all the books on Tiger I anyway. I got the book and it gave me a big surprise. The photographs are stunning, they are rare, sharp and showing a lot of details regarding Tiger I. The layout and format of this book gave me a fresh impression and the colour plate inserts are of very goood standard. A very good book on Tiger I. Do not expect too many words to read though, it's a photographic collection, an exceptional one!
