Review: As a Toland, I am especially impressed with how much information and detail there is in this book about the origins of the Toland name, the family crest, lineage back to early Irish kings, and what roles famous Tolands have played in Irish, European, and American history. The author writes in a personal style and we feel as though we are with him as he begins his search for Toland information and then actually visits the area of Ireland where the Toland family originated. Many Toland families are mentioned and I've found members of my family included in this book. There is even a list of places named Toland in the United States. A great read and nice addition to the family history collection.
