Summary: Student and the Paratroops
Review: German Airborne Troops is probably one of the best books in Osprey Publishing's Men- At- Arms series. You always hear a lot about the British Airborne and the American 82nd and 101st, but German paratroops are generally ignored. Their role in the war is given it's due in this book. It is packed with great photographs and drawings, and the stories about the more famous paratroopers and the engagements they fought in are very interesting. Of particular interest is the pioneer behind the Airborne troops, general Kurt Student. The books in this series are generally regarded as references works. This one stands on it's own.

Summary: informative
Review: This is a very well written book that covers all aspects of German Paratroopers in World War II, but it in some areas it can be quite brief and sue to the small size of the book, the author is not able to go into small details about some of the equipment. For an expert on the subject, the information might seem a little redundant, but for someone who doesn't know a great deal about Fallschirmjagers, the book would be quite interesting. I learned a lot after reading the book and even now i sometimes go back to look up information. I live near Fort Bragg, NC, and this book would be interesting to paratroopers who want to learn about other nations' airborne forces.
