Mr. Ott thoroughly covers the revolution from start to finish. His writing style is efficient and to the point. The book analyzes the causes and effects of each stage of the revolution from every possible view point and deals in depth with the leading figures of this event. I highly recommend this book.

Review: Dr. Ott was one of my history professors at the University of North Alabama--a beautiful regional university where he spent his academic career. THE HAITIAN REVOLUTION is the definitive work on the subject and deserves a high place on any reading list concerned with Caribbean history.
