Rating: Summary: Essential period reading Review: As a local historian I found that Perceval-Maxwells book, 'The Outbreak of the Irish Rebellion of 1641' touched upon a segment of Irish history which has for centuries been swept under the carpet, maybe because of religious prejudices which still exist in Ulster whereby even as events which took place over 350 years ago are still to this day simmering in the hearts of the Irish. A revealing book which has taught me some previously unknown facts about my own home town, Virginia, Co. Cavan, Ireland. Chris Kirk Virginia Heritage Society
