Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent source of information on the Holocaust
Review: This book approaches the Holocaust from many different perspectives. It consists of three different sections made up of several articles written by different authors. The first sectiondeals with historical perspectives such as the events that led up to the Holocaust and the history of anti-semitism, how the Nazis went about their day-to-day killings, and how the Holocaust has affected the situation today between Israel and the Middle East. The second section comprises several very poignant poems on the subject. In the third, their are real stories from people who actually lived through the Holocaust, including two who worked for Oskar Schindler. The third section is the most interesting; it is through the survivors that we get the most important and detailed information about what it was like to live through such a horrific unbelievable era. It is important for everyone to know about the Holocaust because it isn't just an event in Jewish history, it's an event in human history and it's important to learn about it so we can avoid its recurrence. This book is a good source for that.
