Starting off in 1829 with the evolution of the fire deparment, it takes the reader on a fascinating journey through 175 years of firefighting history. The images presented are full of history and many times it would feel as though the reader was transplanted back in time while reading.

For anyone who has an interest in rich fire service history or the Anthracite region, this book is a 'must have'. So many times history is lost and not captured for future generations to read and learn about.
