Summary: Well-written History Textbook
Review: I had to buy this textbook for a first year University History course. I have always had a passion for world history, and as soon as I picked up this book, I had a quick read-through. As I had guessed, I couldn't put the book down! World history had again succeeded at drawing me in again! As the title indicates, this book is about the world in the 20th century, and it focuses in on colonies as they emerge as nation-states in the post-war world. Europe's Asian colonies, the African colonies, and Europe's great Empires are all discussed in great detail. The newly updated 4th edition sheds light on the European Union, the war in Yugoslavia, and the end of apartheid in South Africa. I higly recommend this book for any history enthusiasts out there - it makes for a very interesting read.
