Summary: From the Curator's desk
Review: In the series Images of America: Buena Park, a town comes to life, and eventually the incorporation of a city built by and for many types of people with various ambitions. From the Rancho period, then land plotting by James Whitaker, and encouraged by the Santa Fe Railroad, to the present, with a succession of photographs, Dean O. Dixon invites everyone, and especially former as well as current residents to discover the city's past, even to realize the agricultural and industrial history existing years prior to its most well-known respected resident and industy, Walter Knott and Knott's Berry Farm. Mr. Dixon has also captured the strengths and weaknesses of the city fathers during the development, including the implementation of an historic preservation legacy. The readers of this history will be greatly inspired not only by the images but also by the renditions of the captions by Dean O. Dixon.
