Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An Excellent Historic Analysis
Review: Not for the casual reader. To enjoy this book one would need an extreme interest in the subject. However, this book is a tremendous analysis of the police in Japan following World War Two. It is perfect for use within the historical discipline (Upper Division Undergraduate or Graduate Level), either for the analysis within, or for the incredible amount of primary/secondary sources that Aldous cites. I did not always agree with the conclusions reached by Mr. Aldous, but it was not for lack of evidence. An extremely helpful account, it will definitely amplify one's knowledge of the Police in Occupied Japan, as it did mine.
