Summary: If Lewis and Clark had a aircraft
Review: An interested idea in a well organized book. Route maps, diary excerpts and aerial photos give a different perspective on the Lewis and Clark Trail. The authors annotate nearly every photo with a caption and mile marker. It was interesting to see familiar locations from a new perspective; from the air. However, the original expedition was a land trip and something is missing from looking at these aerial photos, especially when so many of the shots are of bridges, factories, and farms. Even the historic sites along the trail, many of which I have visited, look cold and distant from the air. The sense of history, adventure, and wonder is not here. Perhaps this would have made a better travel film.

Potential buyer should also be aware of another aspect of this volume. The enclosed CD is Windows only. Mac users need not bother.

Summary: A Bird's Eye View Of Lewis & Clark's Journey
Review: This book has a very interesting way of telling the story of Lewis and Clark's Journey. The combination of current day photos of their adventure, journal entries, and maps with dates and campsites creates a uniques way of teaching a part of history. It is especially unique for anyone who is familiar with the areas along their journey.
My husband and I really enjoyed reading this book.

Review: This is an excellent book. The photos are amazing. It truly is amazing to see how much or how little things have changed in the last 200 years. I highly recommend this book.
