Rating: Summary: The book is for customers, not builders Review: This is an insider's guide to help you in the design and building of your home. While the title might upset some builders, the book is intended for people having the work done, showing the inside story of how homes are really built. As an experienced construction manager, I know that not all projects go as well as planned. There is a saying in the industry that "there is no such thing as a perfect house." This book is intended to help give you a better home, one closer to that mythical "perfect" house. It points out common mistakes to avoid as well as how to fix mistakes you didn't avoid. It will also help you find "good" subs and know that the work is being done correctly. There are hints and suggestions, charts and graphs that are not available anywhere else. Any one of the hundreds of these suggestions can save you more than the cost of the book, if not thousands of dollars.
