Authors Bob Walker and Frances Mooney have captured tons of cats in the grips of the zips, and you're sure to recognize your own beloved feline within these pages. Walker's photographs range from kitties desperately escaping from the bottom of a Christmas tree to calmly drinking out of a coffee mug. One orange tabby seems to have a special eye for trouble--he's seen everywhere, from playing in a bathtub to wedging himself in a woodcarving work-in-progress. In a calmer moment, this same mischief-maker is shown in a classically cute pose--"hugging" a fellow feline while sleeping cheek to cheek. Does it get more adorable that that? Each photo is accompanied by a short reason we all love cats. While the quotes may seem serious upon first reading, look again at the companion picture. Yes, we do love cats "because they are there for us," but do we love them when we are trying to shave and they are lounging across our shoulders? Perhaps not. This bright and cheery book will make any feline fancier laugh a lot, nod knowingly, and give their favorite kitty a treat and a tummy rub. --Jill Lightner
