Rating: Summary: Making cleaning MANageable Review: I enjoyed the tongue in cheek manner used to prod me into becoming a domestic dude. The words amusing and practical both describe the book. I liked the advice about brand name cleaning products and tools. Now if I can only get my wife to read it and follow the advice, we'll be getting somewhere.

Rating: Summary: Not Gender-Specific--Gals Need Help Too!!! Review: I read about this book in Bark magazine and knew I immediately had to get a copy. With the help of the friendly people at Amazon.com, these precious pages arrived within days and I whizzed from chapter to chapter, taking notes and preparing myself for my own K2 Syndrome.
The funniest part of the story is that I am a chick (chill bra-burners). Growing up, my mother kept our house like a museum so when I moved out I lived like a frat boy until my thirties. Unfortunately for me, I got married last year and have had little/no success "keeping house."
This bible isn't only for men, but for women who were either never "properly" taught, had housekeepers or just don't give a crap about all the junk tossed around.
With open arms smelling of Windex, I thank the author and I am sure my husband, an extreme cleaner, will thank you when he notices there is indeed a carpet under the Sunday paper (dated March 2003), empty DVD and take-out boxes, my thesis (finished in 2002) pages the dog chewed in a fit of rage, and various Oprah-esque magazines leftover from last Christmas that were never read, but still bought in abundance.
Peace, Love and Pledge,
Onawa Fitzpatrick, Ph.D.
Rating: Summary: Above average "how-to" book for men AND women Review: I've read a number of books about cleaning and organization-- this one is by far the best. It's clear, well-written, and cuts right to the chase. I have trouble with organization and prioritizing, so the step-by-step guidelines on how to approach cleaning and organizational tasks are terrific-- this may seem simple to some people but for many of us it's a BIG problem. I'm very impressed with this book-- it's great for men AND women. I highly recommend it for anyone new to cleaning for him or herself or for those of us who are "experienced" but continue to struggle. Thumbs up!

Rating: Summary: Go from Oscar to Felix Review: This is one of those perfect little volumes that should have been written long ago. I only wish my brother had one of these when he was single -- the image of his crusty bath towels haunts me to this day!Specifically geared towards housekeeping for the single guy, this book covers all bases, from laundry to grout. It's a quick, easy read, filled with useful advice about getting down to business and cleaning the mess up once and for all. I know I'll refer to it often. The author should be commended for keeping the tone funny and to the point, without turning it into a useless fluff piece or a comedy routine. The instructions are all really useful. Think of it as an instruction manual for bachelor living.
