Summary: Calming Signs: Of Dogs and People
Review: Turid Rugaas' ON TALKING TERMS WITH DOGS:CALMING SIGNS is essential reading for anyone who wants to communicate with dogs, whether as a pet owner, trainer, or kid with a "dangerous" dog next door. After memorizing it myself, I keep sending copies to friends' children. I think knowing something of dogs' universal language helps us understand people as well. And it keeps the pit bull next door, who is yawning because it's uncomfortable with our staring at it, or wagging its tail because it is worried, more safe from us and from our children.

Summary: Calming Signals Work!
Review: Within minutes of reading a few pages from this book, my relationship with my puppy changed forever. Suddenly, we were communicating with each other and it worked. Three years later, it still works and is part of our everyday life together. This book is simple, to the point, and essential for all dog lovers who want to be able to better understand their dog. The subtle signals are obvious once Rugaas reveals them. I have recommended this book to thousands of owners (personally and through e-mail lists). The feedback is all positive. One owner had tried for years to have her dog cooperate when shown. Using calming signals, her dog was at ease and able to stay in the ring for the first time ever. I can't imagine having a dog without this knowledge.

Summary: On Talking Terms With Dogs: Calming Signals
Review: Wow! Talk about great things coming in small packages. Its a small book and a quick read, packed full of what all dog owners should know. I have 3 dogs. The newest member, a 1 year old australian shephard mix, is hyper and "bothers" my older dog. I began watching them with my new found Knowledge of calming signals, and realized that my older dog wasnt actually bothered, he was trying to soothe the hyper puppy. I began to use the calming signals myself with the puppy and he stopped jumping and running around like a maniac and actually began to pay attention to me. Im truely amazed. Thank you Turid Rugaas for all your work and for sharing it with others.
This is a book all dog owners should read!!
