Review: This book is a wonderful resource for anyone thinking of entering the dog training profession. Very thorough but still easy to read. I read it in a few days. Also has a wonderful "Resource" section in the back full of helpful books, articles, websites and products.

Review: This book offered some good information for people looking to get into training dogs professionally. I thought that many of the ideas for advertising were helpful. The downside was the author's push of her own training methods. This book is made to seem like a book about helping people get started and learning the business aspects of a dog training business, but there is definitely an agenda to push her "purely positive" methods which becomes frustrating after a while. Read it if you want the information on the business part, but be prepared to have to deal with the pushing of questionable training methods.

Review: This certainly is the book for me. I'm in the process of becoming a dog trainer and this book was my first step. It is an easy read and is packed with information, step-by-step guidance and resources - not to mention humor sprinkled in. It seems to me that she covers it all - even considering your own comfort zone. Nicole Wilde writes directly to you in a friendly one-on-one style. I very much appreciate her gentle approach to training - we owe that to our loyal friends, and I'm so pleased that she shares this in her book. Even after I do become a dog trainer, I'm certain I will refer to this book throughout my career.

Review: This is exactly what I wanted. It has examples for things like a training document for your customers. It has advertising, ways to run your business and even a curricilum of sorts. Exactly what I wanted and couldn't find in any other books. Read it if you're interested in this type of business.
