Summary: Creative, inspiring, and gorgeous
Review: This book is filled with original and practical ideas for any style ranch whether you're undertaking a small, medium or large renovation or interested in redecorating. I love that there are 18 houses and all of them are different, and then the author takes you inside each one with a great story about how the house came together, and provides many terrific photos. Pick your style house and them get a comprehensive look at every aspect. Captions and sidebars are full of additional great ideas and even supply pertinent history that's fun to see fit into the house. The author really rounds out the ranch house scene, providing the thorough and useful information that only an expert who is passionately in love with this style would want to provide -- and does.

Summary: Excellent coffee table book
Review: This book is on my coffee table and every time some one comes over they start flipping through it and then they start reading it and become so engrossed in it that my husband and I can barely get it out of their hands so we can socialize! This book is irresistible because it reads like a good book and at the same time its beautiful to look at. We've got it filled with post-its of pictures we like and want to do to our house, and just like we heard the author say on TV, the back is full of paint colors and resources that we plan to use a lot of. We've gotten so many ideas from this book for the inside and the outside of our house. It's fun to see which house our ranch house is most like, and its really fun to see so many different kinds of ranch houses and to hear the story on them from the owners. It's very personal, useful and beautiful. It's bargain for how much we use it and enjoy it.

Summary: This misses the mark
Review: This ranch house book includes a little bit of everything and not enough to satisfy individual readers. If you're a purist, you won't find enough in here. (Buy an Eichler book or some other similar book instead.) If you're not a purist and want ideas for redoing a more ordinary ranch house, you won't find enough either. The book is very thin also. It is basically a magazine's worth of stuff for a big book price.

Review: Very Informative. Great ideas. There are more colored pictures than any other design book i have purchased. It is full of new ideas for my traditional style interiors. It is well worth the price.
