Review: As the director of a very large training program, we are always looking for just the right puppy book that will help busy new puppy owners. Joel's book is very clear, readable, and an excellent resource for anyone who wants a simple way to live successfully with puppies. We recommend this book to all our puppy "parents". If you follow Joel's training and management suggestions, you'll have a great relationship with this puppy who will know all the right things to do!

Review: I've known Joel Walton for years. We exchanged views and keep evolving in our travels at workshops and APDT conferences. Joel's passion springs out in this easy to read and essential little dog training book. His wisdom and guidance on how to train easily, with positive reward based methods is effective! The book offers some unique tidbits in other areas of behavior shaping as well, like the "instant harness" for pulling. Joel doesn't focus on problems, as much as he focuses on learning, understanding dog behavior and solutions. That's cool and I highly recommend any of his books. Be well

Review: Puppyhood is a wonderful time, a time that can and should be thoroughly enjoyable for both owner and puppy. New owner's (and old ones, too) should set aside a few minutes daily to read and put into practice all the wonderful advice POSITIVE PUPPY TRAINING WORKS offers. The end result is almost a *given*...a dog that is well mannered and well balanced emotionally. In addition, your dog will be starting off on the correct path toward becoming your life long soul mate and partner with whom you are able to explore and share the wonderful world with.

As a certified professional family dog trainer and behavior counselor, even I find myself refering to POSITIVE PUPPY TRAINING WORKS. Sometimes you can't see futher than your nose,or you don't practice what you preach and desperately need someone, or some book, to put things in perspective...your book does just that. Thank you Joel Walton for another wonderful clearly written, easy to read and understandable book.

Review: This short book is just what puppy owners need: quick basics on how to get your puppy to learn (what you want them to do). The book is full of practical advice and stresses two essencial techniques that must owners need: management and training.

I wish I could give this book to everyone who owns a dog!
