Rating: Summary: Whenever I see your smiling face ... Review: ... I have to smile myself. And nobody smiles better than a loving dog, like the blonde Lab mix on the cover of this book. For those who don't know Emily Weinstein's work, check out Moon Book and Cat Book, too. Those who do know her work will love this collection of dogs and stories, with art work from simple pet portraits to pets and owners to Impressionistic paintings, as well as some graphite drawings. The stories are specific, while the paintings are timeless works that will appeal to all dog lovers.
Rating: Summary: The story of her having adopted a new dog Review: Also available in a hardcover edition (0974627909 $18.50), Dog Book by animal welfare advocate Emily Weinstein is the story of her having adopted a new dog from the local animal shelter who proved to be companionable, protective, perceptive, active, and fun to be with. Dog Book reveals how desperate is the need for canine foster homes, and the necessity of making a life-time commitment to canine adoptees (all to often puppies are return to shelters because they are not house-trained, prove to be inconvenient, chew things up, etc.); and shaving an adopted dog spayed or neutered. Wonderfully illustrated throughout by Emily Weinstein's artwork, Dog Book is one of those titles that should be a part of every community library's Pets & Wildlife collections.

Rating: Summary: If they don't let dogs in heaven, I don't want to go Review: Dog Lovers gotta love this book. Weinstein captures dogs and their masters in masterful style. Her stories are poignant, moving and sometimes humorous. Her paintings are masterful. This book should be in the waiting room of every vet in the nation. Buy one for your favorite Dog Doc today. P.S. It is a shame there is no image available of the cover of this one.
