Rating: Summary: Painting made E-Z! Review: Donna Dewberry is an author with amazing talent. In this book she covers all the basics, from how to hold and load your brush to completing a fruit cabinet with matching plates. It also covers some faux finishes, such as antiquing and marble effects. The Complete Book of One-Stroke Painting is packed full of colorful photos. There are pictures of strokes, projects, and pattern designs. The instructions for each basic stroke, and each project are in plain english so even the first time painter can catch on. After trying the one-stroke technique, I was a bit frustrated. I couldn't seem to make that brush work the way it was suppost to...but I kept trying and by the end of the evening I was making all kinds of pretty things. I even painted an outlet cover with a faux marble finish with grapes and vines. This technique does require practice, but let me tell you, there is no better teacher than Donna's Complete Book of One-Stroke Painting. I give it an A+.
Rating: Summary: Easy to follow Review: Great for beginners. I'm already on my fourth project and each one gets better.
Rating: Summary: I can finally paint! Review: I always wanted to be an artist, and with Donna's easy-to-follow techniques, I can now paint! Before, I drew rotten stick figures, but Donna had me painting like a pro in nothing flat! I have given items away as gifts, and have had requests for items! I've been concentrating on clay flower pots, but I now feel ready to branch out to bigger and better things! Thanks Donna!

Rating: Summary: Dreams Really Do Come True With Donna Dewberry Review: I first became familiar with Donna while watching TV. Here was a woman saying that you, (me?) can paint and yes, it will not only look nice, but Terrific with the Dewberry method. I have all of her big books and I wish I would have bought this one first. The composition of this book is brillant. Donna shows the reader how to start with a foam plate as a palette and suddenly, your off painting leaves, vines, curlicues and then fruit and flowers. Donnas technique for painting roses is priceless. With a little practice and this book, ANYONE can achieve phenominal results. If you are even thinking about purchasing a Dewberry book, please take the plunge and buy this one. Donna's simple approach and no nonsense directions will make an artist out of even the most doubtful. Being a stay-at-home mother and forever budget conscious, Donna has changed my life. Not only have her teachings provided me with an opportunity to paint treasured gifts for every occasion, but I have sold a few of my pieces and I plan to pursue decorative painting as a career. Thank You Donna from a woman who hadn't painted with anything except her fingers until your books came along!
