Summary: Wonderful
Review: I am a knitter from way back - I've been knitting since I was 9 years old and when I saw this book, I thought this would be a way to not only knit but teach my daughter how to knit. There are some very easy patterns in the book and some harder ones, but it beats paying for all those Barbie clothes and we have fun doing them together. Right now I'm on to the wedding dress, I'll let you know how it comes out.

Summary: A Most Delightful Book for Barbie Knitters
Review: I just got this book today and I was so excited when I opened the package. This book is simply wonderful. I'm a Barbie collector and knitter, so this book naturaly appealed to me. It has the most charming patterns for Barbie, and it also has patterns for Ken and her pet dogs. The 'Fur Collar Cashmere', for Barbie, is simply divine. There is so many wonderful and whimsical patterns that I'm having the hardest time deciding what to do first. Some are very simple in appearance, but substitute a different color(s) and they would be quite nice. Most of them are so very lovely though(and there's so many), you won't have to be concerned about not getting your moneys worth. There's alot of easy patterns too for beginners. I would reccomend this book to all kniitters. Especially young girls who love Barbie, because knitting is so much fun and when you see what your little creations look like when your finished with them, it's lovely. I always wanted to learn how to knit since, I guess Wilma and Betty on "The Flinstones", also from reading books like Jane Austen's, L.M. Montgomery's, and other great classics. When you read books like that, you always read about someone knitting, so I was always curious about it. I learned to knit later when I was eighteen from a book called "Learn to Knit in Just One Day" by Jean Leinhauser. It teaches you the basics of knitting. I recommend this book also to get started, that is, if you've always wanted to know how to knit but don't know how.

Summary: Super Book for Knit Barbie Clothes!
Review: My friend had picked up this book before I finally bought it, so I saw what was in it--the patterns are easy to understand, and the yarn is easily substituted with whatever you have--just adjust your needle size to gauge. Of course, just as sewing Barbie clothes, It's a little tricky making it in small sizes! But it's very worth it--Barbie will look great, and you can accomplish projects in a short amount of time.

Summary: Fun! Fun! Fun!
Review: My interest in creating Barbie clothes began with the desire to sew matching granddaughter/Barbie nightgowns. However, I am in a caregiving situation in which there is not always time to set up the necessary sewing equipment. Knitting for Barbie is the ideal solution - very portable and easy to put down at a moment's notice.

The book is very exciting with all the many items that can be knitted - even matching purses! I am an average once-in-a-while knitter and find the projects within my abilities and the directions clear. I found the suggested knitting materials online, but decided to use easier-to-find and less costly baby and sport yarn on sale at local stores. It certainly won't matter to the young girls who will be dressing their Barbies!

I am enjoying creating these tiny fashions as much as I hope my granddaughters will enjoy playing with them!

Summary: Knits: Hits & Misses
Review: The very first pattern I tried from this book had an error in the pattern. Not a huge thing for an experienced knitter, but perhaps overwhelming for a new knitter. The patterns are basic, some I have seen before. Still not a bad book for Barbie knitting. The yarns are difficult to find in many cases, but any yarn shop worth the name should have the equivalent to what is called for in the book. Directions, for the most part are basic.

Summary: Great Knit for Barbie Book
Review: This book is wonderful. It is full of knit clothing that actually looks good on Barbie. I was impress with the various sweaters that I'm going to be able to knit. The diversity of the patterns leaves something for everyone. So if you are a "new" knitter you will still be able to knit these sweaters.

I was especially looking forward to the resource section. Alas, there are resources listed (contact by snail mail only, no web sites) and they are mostly manufacturer listings. The manufacturer usually just send you back a listing of stores where you can buy their yarns. The specialty yarns are expecially hard to find and I was hoping for retail resources!

Summary: Tons of fun!
Review: This is a great knitting book. I'm a beginning/intermediate level knitter, and I found this book to be a great practice book before my first attempt to make a human-size sweater. Most projects can be completed in several hours - one day at the longest. I never got bored with it ;)

The book is also very clear and easy to use. I never had to look up additional information from other books -When a project requires an intermediate level stitch (that is stitces beyond basic knit/purl, binding off, casting on, and increasing/decreasing) you can always find a short tutorial about that sitch on the same page. I'm also happy that I got to use up my leftover yarns.
