Rating: Summary: Average Review: After having read just about every book on handling and dog shows, in addition to attending a number of handling seminars, I wasn't impressed with this book. I found it to be just an average summary of the dog show process and what it takes to compete. This information can be found in any number of other books out there (which also offer a significant amount of additional information) or on the AKC website. If you are looking for a good general overview of dog show handling, start here. Otherwise, look somewhere else, such as the books by George Alston or Pat Hastings.
Rating: Summary: Average Review: This is a great book for anyone learning how to handle dogs. It gives you great pictures of how you are supposed to stack dogs. Other books tell you how to do it, but lack pictures. This also uses a variety of breeds in their pictures. It goes over stacking on the ground vs. stacking on the table. It also does a good job explaining the dog show world, which can be confusing for newcomers. I highly recommend this book...even more than George Alston's book (another great one!).
Rating: Summary: Great book with lots of pictures! Review: This is a great book for anyone learning how to handle dogs. It gives you great pictures of how you are supposed to stack dogs. Rating: Summary: best book about showing dogs ever Review: This is a great book if you are just starting to show dogs, or a long time veterian of the sport. It tells you everthing about breading, to how to show your dog. The author of this book is Peter Green, he is the top dog in the dog show world. If anyone know's how to show a dog it is this guy. I reccomand this book to anyone who has an intrest in dog showing and wants to learn more about it.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: This is the first show book I read. It was also a previous edition. When I finished the book I searched until I found an updated version and bought it right away. Even the old book was a bounty of information. I highly recommend this book to anyone that is beginning in the show ring. It's easy to read with a lot of really great pointers that still apply today. I read the whole thing!
