Summary: Good starter for beginners
Review: Every part of cultivation from seeds to harvest laid out in easy to understand tables, graphs and charts. A kindergartener could grow quality bud with this book's help.

Review: I can tell you this is the second Ed book I have read next to "Ask Ed?" and it is a lot worse than that book which is also very poor. It is worse because this book actually has "The Indoor High Yield Guide" written on the cover but does not explain how to do this correctly. What Ed provides is loosely based on Mel Frank's work "Marijuana Grower's Guide" that is also lacking in good practical advice.

So what you get here in this book is Mel's dated theories + Ed's 'poor practical knowledge' applied to written practical examples that do not actually work out if you try them.

The book covers some of the basic groundwork but includes so much misinformation in the basics that it can only be said that the writer has not applied much of it to practice. If you look at the advice given on Mg problems you will soon find out that his advice will cause nutrient lockout. The pruning advice will seriously stunt growth.... I can go on and on about this. The book is full of errors.

If you talk to any grower (that is able to generate good indoor harvest results) about this book they will tell you the same thing that I will. "The book is a very poor basic cannabis grow book. It tries to expand on the poorly organised basics and only ends up confusing the grower with information that is not important or information that is wrong and very dated."

Why these guys just don't go out and ask a real grower a few questions is anybody's guess. It is not very hard to grow high yields with some basic knowledge. If the book could even get the basics right then it would receive a much higher rating. Don't believe the hype. Look elsewhere for a better grow book.

Summary: This is the one!!!
Review: No grow book has it all. There is not substitute for experience, and this book was my favorite; I did read five others, all classic grow books, so there is a basis for comparison. I find myself going back to it and finding answers I didn't know were there. I would have liked to have the book better organized for the novice, but once again, the organization was no worse, or was better, than any of the others. I had never grown anything in my life before, but have achieved success. A very good grow manual, at least in comparison to existing competition.

Summary: basic grow guide for the novice to intermediate grower
Review: this book is an excellent first book for the first time grower. It goes in to the basics of all aspects of cultivation without droning on about things that a novice could care less about. It also includes enough info to be helpful to the more experienced grower. the photos and diagrams were excellent. this book is good for hydroponics and soil growers, indoor or outdoors. this book has it all.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: great handbook
Review: This is a great starter book for any grower. I still refer to this book many times. The information is great and useful. A book for people who are starting to grow.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Good Presentation - Fair coverage of marijuana topics
Review: This is an okay reference book. I found this book easier to navigate than Indoor marijuana Horticulture by Jorge Cervantes which is packed with information but not well presented. Between both of these guides I was able to improve on my cultivation techniques but there are gaps still not covered by both works. If you find yourself in this kind of a situation then I recommend that you look for normal botany books on growing. I have a collection of other readings which helped. You might have to go down that route too.

Well worth the read but you will need much more than just these two books.
