Rating: Summary: A Rare Find Review: If you want to know more about Paper Quilting, this book will show you many different techniques and how-to's generously illustrated with photographs. I found it exceptionally useful and would recommend it to anyone interested in creating this kind of art. I now consider this a "must-own" and refer to it again and again. Great for paper artists, quilters, collage artists, visual artists, writers, people who journal and more. There are not a lot of books like this out there. Hopefully, this book will inspire more!

Rating: Summary: I enjoyed *most* of this one immensely. Worth the purchase. Review: This is a wonderfully made dip into a serene place where wise women play with dried leaves and threads and papers of subtle colors. The lay out is visually sumptuous--just as a photography book it's great. I felt that mild opiate-like sensation I get when leafing through an old issue of Victoria. Speaking of that defunct magazine's heros, the Sarah Lugg section of this book is sublime, complete with close-ups of her gessoed, seeded surfaces. The author's method of working with pinpricks, sewing, and scavenged elegant natural elements is truly informative and inspiring.
My only problem with this book is largely a matter of personal taste, in that roughly half of the work featured is, well, very very quilty. The title, after all, is Paper *Quilting* so it's irrational of me to criticize on the grounds that some of the work just looks like paper quilts. Some of the work simply wasn't appealing to me, but I'm sure quilters will love it, and it is a great paper arts book. I'm still enjoying it.
