Rating: Summary: The best book for dog owners hands down Review: "Two books in one" may sound too good to be true, but that's what you get with Howard Weinstein and Mail Order Annie in "Puppy Kisses are Good for the Soul". The first part of "Puppy Kisses" shows you what a wonderful relationship you can -- and should -- have with your dog through Howard's own personal experience with his Corgi Annie, while the second part tells you how to achieve it with your own dog. The book is a pleasure to read, being both insightful and humorous, and it is filled with practical, must-have advice for surviving a new dog or improving your relationship with your current one. "Puppy Kisses are Good for the Soul" is the best book for dog owners that my wife and I have ever read. In fact, the first "book" describing Howard's life with Annie qualifies as one of the best we've read period. If there is one book that dog owners and lovers should own, "Puppy Kisses" is it.

Rating: Summary: Bouquets for 'Puppy Kisses'! Review: As one who shared my home with a dog for 17 years, I was amazed by how much I learned from Puppy Kisses. I regret that such a book was not available in the late 1960s, when a mixed breed pup came to live with my family and me. We might have returned even more of the affection he so freely gave us, had Mr. Weinstein's book been available then, thanks to the author's caring and thoughtful approach to his subject.Filled with gentle advice borne of long personal experience, Mr. Weinstein guides the reader through the many phases of learning to live with a canine companion. He introduced me to considerations I had never thought of regarding the selection of a puppy, and critically important steps in dog-care during your first two years together. The sections that deal with training your dog particularly impressed me. They are well thought out, concise and clear. The reader is offered both do's and don'ts regarding timing and pace of lessons, and when and how to reward your dog. Puppy Kisses is filled with loving wisdom, which makes it enjoyable and valuable reading for the new puppy owner or anyone contemplating adding a pup to his or her household.

Rating: Summary: Corgis Corgis Corgis Review: Howard Weinstein's book "Puppy Kisses are Good for the Soul" is a delightful book, whether you are a dog owner or not. This book combines wonderful, humorous stories with a simple, logical approach to choosing and raising a dog. Howard's superb wit makes for entertaining reading, and the book is packed with excellent tips and tricks to make puppy raising successful, for both you and your dog. If you don't have a dog before you buy this book, you'll want to run straight out and get one once you have read it.
Rating: Summary: Corgi Kisses Review: I purchased this book partly for the Corgi story and partly for the training information. Who can resist a book showcasing a Pembroke Welsh Corgi on the cover? Howard Weinstein lets the reader peek into his life with Annie and perfectly describes Corgi ownership--from tummy control to mommy watch. This enchanting story makes you feel as if you know Annie, Howard and their circle of family and friends. If you own a Corgi, you should read this book. If don't own a Corgi, you should get Corgi, then read this book. Even if you're just a dog lover, you should still read this book. I highly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Simply put, pure pleasure! Review: I'm an avid reader of mysteries and non-fiction political and historical books but "Puppy Kisses", a huge departure from my usual choices, is easily my favorite book! I bought this book as we were waiting to adopt our own Corgi. It made the anticipation of her arrival that much more fun. Annie's antics are hilarious and the love Mr. Weinstein feels for her is as large and obvious as a pair of Corgi ears! You will laugh and you will cry - probably harder than you can imagine. Most of all you will be amazed by this incredibly intelligent and savy breed of dog. Corgis are truly unique and have to be one of the funniest dogs you will ever encounter and Mr. Weinstein has captured the essence of the Corgi - and no doubt especially the essence of his "Annie". I have recommended this book to friends and family - dog lovers and non dog lovers alike and all just love it. If you are looking for a thorougly enjoyable read that leaves your heart and soul warm and fuzzy, this is the book. For those of you especially who have loved a pet as if he or she came from your own heart, you will understand the connection between Mr. Weinstein and Annie and probably never read a more lovely tribute. I can't recommend it highly enough!

Rating: Summary: Annie's Antics are good for the soul! Review: It's not often that I can't put a book down and this one was one of them. Howard's story of Annie's life was something I just couldn't put down. You'll share the highs and lows of his life and times with Annie.
I know she's gone but I feel that I knew her. I'm an owner of a German Sheperd which is roughly the exact opposite of a Corgi but that doesn't mean anything. A dog is a dog is a dog. I can see similarities between Annie and my Cali.
Part two of the book deals with the purchae and training of a dog and it's as well written as the part about Annie.
I would happily recommend this book to anyone who loves dogs or wants to love dogs.
Rating: Summary: Puppy Kisses really are good for the soul! Review: This book is a must read for any dog lover or persons planning on getting a dog. As a former Poodle owner some of the antics Annie put her owner through all dog owners have gone through some time or other. This book offers wonderful ways to help you and your puppy no matter the breed, learn together and bond the friendship that will grown over the years. I laughed and cried over the life they shared. It made me remember all the wonderful and sad times I shared with my own dog of 13 years. I never knew Annie but after reading this book I WAS there. I feel as if I have known her and her family all my life. For a trully enjoyable read and very informative helpful instructions on teaching your four-foot freind how to behave. This is the book for you.
