Rating: Summary: Excellent! Well-written, clear and concise! Review: "Temari: How to Make Japanese Thread Balls" by Diana Vandervoort I have been a craft person for more years than I care to think about. I have tried almost every kind of craft there is and this book is the best!! I do not think I have ever used a book which is as well written as this one. I first saw Diana on a television craft show and I fell in love with the Temari balls. I knew I had to learn the technique. I purchased her book and started on page one and proceeded to "work" my way thru the pages. I have made every one of the designs, following her wonderful directions, and they have all turned out beautifully. It is as if Diana is sitting next to me each step of the way. She leaves nothing out. If you can read you can follow her directions. The step-by-step directions are accompanied by clear drawings which follow along with the text. The color pictures in this book are inspiring and lovely. Thank you Diana for writing this book. As my thank you, I have just purchased your other books.
Rating: Summary: Learn a wonderful art form Review: I first became aware of Temari when I saw some balls on display by a lady offering lessons on how to make them. The lessons were $65.00. I decided to check Amazon.com before I gave up learning it on my own. I ordered this book and was thrilled with the results. The instructions are very easy to follow with lots of drawings showing exactly what to do. I was successful on my first try and I am delighted with my new hobby. I have just ordered a second book by Diana Vandervoort and can't wait to get it. By the way, the balls that I had seen on display were all from this book.

Rating: Summary: A Great Beginners Book! Review: I first was introduced to temari while channel surfing, and stumbling onto the Carol Duval show on HG network when Diana Vandervoort was demonstrating her craft. I could not wait to get my hands on her book and try it for myself-mostly because I could not believe something so elegant and complex could be so easy to do! This turned out to be one of the easiest crafts I have ever tried, and I have tried my hand at A LOT of things. The photos are truly inspiring, and the instructions are some of the easiest to understand and follow. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book, and new patterns.
Rating: Summary: A Great Beginners Book! Review: This is an excellent guide to help you create beautiful, and fun-to-do, Temari balls. Simple and easy to follow intructions are given.

Rating: Summary: A great way to teach yourself this craft Review: This is indeed a book that has your turning out Temari with no stress... fully diagrammed with clear verbal instructions take you through the process with great results. Basic patterns are covered. Probably the best first/beginner book for Americans, it leaves you hungry for more... like the next two books by Vandervoort, and/or the Wood book.
