Review: This book would be perfect for someone who's never knit before & wants to learn how. For intermediate or advanced knitters, or even knitters who haven't knit for a while & want to start up again, I think they may find the projects too simple (for example, the "plain old scarf."). Some projects don't have accompanying photos (baby blanket, kerchief, curtain), which I found disappointing. Other projects (beer cozy, sock puppet couture, paperweight) were not exactly what I had in mind to knit. The instructions are written step-by-step & contain no abbreviations, so they're great for those who have ever been frustrated by the standard knitting pattern lingo.

Review: This is a very bad book. The cover art is attractive and I can see why you might be draw to it but do not buy this book I have several friends who have been duped and have not knit a stitch because they were so discouraged by this book. I told them they should have asked someone first before plunging head first into a book that will not teach you a thing.

The directions are not written for anyone who needs to actually learn anything. There are hardly any pictures, and that is just the tip of the iceberg.

I recommend the Yarn Girls Guide to Knitting for anyone new to knitting and even for someone who is looking for inspirations for simple projects.
