Summary: Wonderful guide to making jewelry
Review: As a relative newcomer to the craft of polymer clay art, I need instruction! Typically, the only avenue available to me at a reasonable cost is through reading instructional books. I look for books with good photographs and illustrations, as well as clearly written, detailed instructions. It's also nice if the instructing artist has a variety of projects to choose from. I am happy to say that this book fills the bill. And it's not just about jewlery. There are many other projects in the book, mostly small scale pieces, buttons, fantasy dragons, wizards, cottage miniatures and more.

The projects are easy to follow and easily adaptable to the users personal tastes. The steps to complete a project make so much sense and the projests turn out so well, it's a joy to use this book.

Summary: Polymer clay primer
Review: Few bead project books have an index but this one does. Let's say that you are going to the opening of an Egyptian mummy exhibit at the museum and want to make and wear jewelry that is smashingly appropriate for the occasion. I would start by looking in this book because it has an index, bypassing the riffle through my other project books.

Sue shows how to make all sorts of jewelry from polymer clay by using many effective techniques. She demonstrates mould-making, metallic effects, mosaics and appliqué to make bunnies, buttons, flowers and fruit. Mould-making is used to "make-your-own fossils." If you've never worked with polymer clay, this is an excellent starter book to tempt you to try it.

Summary: Wonderful and useful!
Review: I had to finally buy this book because I kept checking it out of the library! I think the pictures are great and the instructions are easy to follow. The things you make are perfect gifts for people who wear jewelry. Very highly recommended!!

Summary: Lovely, detailed book, but poorly produced
Review: Making Polymer Clay Jewelry is a wonderful book for those who work with the medium or aspire to. The book is well-written and a lot of fun; it would be enjoyable for anyone who is not already expert at working with polymer clay.

The content is quite good. The introduction covers tools, materials, and basic techniques; the remainder of the book is projects. The twenty projects show polymer clay's versatility and utility very well, and the instructions are clear and detailed. The photographs are plentiful and attractive, and the frequent illustrations contribute a great deal to the book's clarity.

I do wish that the author had included the amount of clay that each project would require. Many of the pieces require mixing clays to produce specific colors, and without any idea of how much clay will be used, it's hard to make enough, but not too much, of a color you may not need again.

The most serious problem with the book is the quality of the binding. The copy I have is so poorly bound that the spine is loosening noticeably, and I've had it only two days. I would suggest that anyone who purchases this book have it immediately cut and spiral bound; this will also enable the user to keep the book open to a specific page while working.

All in all, a very good book, but the publishers should have paid closer attention to the quality of its production.

Summary: Great!!!
Review: This is such a wonderful book.
My sister gave it to me for my Birthday and I just love it.
The directions for the projects are very clear and the projects themselves are beautiful.
I highly recommend this book.
I've already made 4 of the projects and don't see an end to the variations available.

Summary: Useful for firstime hobby in Polymer clay
Review: This was one of my first polymer clay books. I found it useful but not very inspirational. It is more for someone wanting to practice the art of Polymer clay as a hobby and not as an artform.
