Summary: A good addition to your terrier bookshelf.
Review: Although this book may not be the definitive earthdog book, it's a definite "buy" for your shelf. If you own an earthdog, you should own this book. And, if you own an earthdog, find an earthdog test in your area and go -- your dog will love you for it!

Summary: An entertaining and informative read
Review: Mario Migliorini has succeeded in raising his subject beond the level of a techniques and methods manual and instead has produced a highly entertaining and readable book. His easy open style and homespun anecdotes provide a facinating insite into the social origins of the ground dogs. A well researched and illustrated book, the section on hunting in the UK is a particular treat. Hard to put down, this book is worth a browse by anyone and is a must for Terrier enthusiasts.

Summary: A fireside read, but it won't help you in the field.
Review: While this book contains lots of history and general information there is very little for the enthusiast ready to start training their dog. The few chapters devoted to actually working your dog, contain little more information that the official rule book. I was looking for a resource to help me start training my dogs and setting up tunnels. I was very dissapointed. This book was not worth the cost, nor the (relativly small) amount of time it took to read it.
