Rating: Summary: A true delight and an especial treasure Review: Charmingly enhanced with the artwork of Beverly Abbot, Paw Prints Through The Years by Jean C. Keating is an engaging and personal memoir of six generations of beloved animal companions and the joy their shared with their human owners. Written from both historical and fanciful yet believable canine perspectives, Paw Prints Through The Years is a true delight and an especial treasure for anyone who has ever enjoyed the company of a canine companion.
Rating: Summary: Reader from England Review: Congratulations to the author for writing such a super book, I thoroughly enjoyed it and about to re read. Warm, funny and poignant, the artwork is fantastic I will be sending for Jean Keating's other books, if she published in the UK being such a pet loving nation she would be very popular.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely wonderful !!! Highly recommended !!! Review: I have this wonderful book and recommend it very highly. Warm hearted, well written and excellently illustrated. Five generations of life with her beloved Papillons !! You will laugh as these unstoppable dynamo canine companions put Jean through her paces and parts will also tug at your heartstrings.
This is truly one of the most enjoyable books that I have ever read. It is one of those books that you love to read over and over again. Jean is a very talented writer and a terrific friend. Our friendship will last a lifetime. I look forward to reading many more of her books. Jo Helms-fellow author
Rating: Summary: A Tribute to Canine Companions and the Humans Who Love Them Review: Jean Keating is a master story teller. And, what's more, she loves animals! This heartwarming story chronicles the lives and adventures of Jean's wonderful group of canine companions. Jean invites you into their lives, letting you feel the pure joy that comes from loving (and being loved back by) an animal. Throughout the book, you also get to know the author, who herself is a wonderful spirit!A great book for all ages!
Rating: Summary: Myers-Briggs will never be the same again Review: Keating proves once again that she can mix serious subjects with the touching relationships she shares with her animal companions to present a chronicle of extraordinary candor, sensitivity, humor and warmth. I picked up this book on the way to a management conference and couldn't put it down until I finished it. I will never be able to listen to [or give] another presentation regarding Myers-Briggs personality types without secret laughter from the memory of Keating's renaming of one of the types. A thoroughly entertaining, uplifting and amusing book that educates by showing the reader how things happen without once resorting to telling.
Rating: Summary: Wit and Wisdom Review: Paw Prints Through The Years stirs my resolve to follow my dogs' examples of enjoying each day as it comes. This book puts into words the inexpressible love and appreciation most of us feel for the pets who share our lives and captures with wit and wisdom the magic of that special animal-human bond.
Rating: Summary: Paw Prints Through The Years Review: This delightful, beautifully-illustrated book recounts the adventures, mishaps, tragedies and triumphs of an increasing "family" of purebred Papillons, a couple of Chihuahuas, a cat and "Mama Jean", the author. Underlying the main story is a more poignant one of the pets' gradual takeover of the household and the life of their mistress. As I read, I experienced a growing sense of enjoyment and amusement as the "Astra Gang" assumed near-human traits and drew ever-closer to each other. A must-read for dog lovers!
Rating: Summary: A dog's life through a dog's eyes Review: Who says dogs and man can't communicate? Not Jean Keating, that's for sure. When a nineteen year, childless marriage ended in divorce, she began raising and showing a tiny breed of dog called a Papillon. Today she shares her life with a dozen Papillons ranging in age from a few months to fifteen years old, several rescues and two cats. The fifth generation of her show dogs appeared in a recent Westminster Kennel Club show and on Animal Planet. In Paw Prints Through The Years, Jean has woven that knowledge of showing and living with her dogs into a powerfully amusing and touching story that no pet owner or lover can resist. The voices of the dogs are heard in witty and moving Christmas letters they write to family and friends. The love of life and the dogs that share it comes through in the author's memoirs of two decades and six generations of her beloved butterfly dogs. Highly recommended: five stars and four paws UP!
