Rating: Summary: Only Weight Needed! Review: I am currently making my first (of many, I sure) afghan from this book. The pictures are great. I especially like that they simply list the yarn needed as worsted or sport weight and let me choose a brand name that I can get locally. So many books use a specific brand of yarn and I have to determine what I need to substitute to achieve relatively the same result. I LOVE this book and plan to make many more from this book.
Rating: Summary: This is a good one ! Review: I was not dissapointed at all when this book arrived. I am in love with the Cozy Wrap which is shown in a cream color and made holding 3 strands together. Really Red is gorgeous, Soft Stripes which is made holding 6 strands together is on my must do asap list. Pretty in Pink, Vintage Ripple... so many patterns to enjoy here! There are some I will make as shown, and patterns that give me ideas for original creations of my own. There is nothing stale or boring here, and if I ever lose this book I'll buy it again.
Rating: Summary: love 2knit contines to luv2crochet! Review: I was searching out books that had a lot of variety in afghans,,,,,I have made a few knitted ones, but now that I crochet, I thought I would take the time to look at both before comtemplating my next throw.I DO love the designs in this book and will make more than a few, this book is clearly the nicest crochet afghan book I have seen ,,,the page across shows the pattern,,,,( dont know WHY they do not normally make a practice of this in more afghan project books!) At first glance I KNEW I needed to have a sun flower afghan,,it would be toooooo cute in summer for picnics and firework watching!!! The colors I must admit (in some cases) are a wee bit dated, I will be replacing the dark green , brown and yellow called for with sage ( background) ecru for the sunflower and black for the center,,to update this to my taste, there are MANY to choose from, and present colors make no difference to me at all,,,( remember the year when EVERYONE had mauve carpeting in the home, there must be MILES of it in the US!) Just do your own thing with color/texture and anything will look fabulous! Since I do love to mix yarns and textures ( I do this a LOT in knitting!) most of the afghans do call for carrying at least 2 yarns,,,,,,,, I can only envision what one can create in mixing up lovely combinations! This however is not totally inclusive of all there is to be ,,,,I did not see many patterns for baby blankets ,which is OK as the market already is over saturated with them,,, Missing also was a lot of shell type afghans which again, is OK with me as I have a small booklet here for a wedding throw I was pondering over,,, overall,,,its a great book and I will use it many times with many yarns,,,, truth be told its the best I have seen for the price ,even IF you have to have a few additonal books or pamphlets to round out to cover the baby and shell/lace throw lovers! definately a good book,,,,,,definately a keeper!
Rating: Summary: Lots of Variety Review: This book of patterns includes a lot of variety. There is a blanket in there for everyone. In addition the patterns are easy to follow. So far I have made two afghans out of this book and have not found a mistake in either one of them. I would recommend this book to anyone, as it could be for a beginner or advanced.
Rating: Summary: WOW!!! Review: This is a wonderful book that I would recomend to anyone. There's something for everyone in this book. There are over 50 different patterns included, all of which are easy to follow. As a matter of fact, I had never crocheted before and began using a pattern out of this book and the patterns are absolutly beautiful.
Rating: Summary: Gorgeous Afghans to Make, and FAST Review: This is such a useful book. I am making 2 afghans out of it right now. One is done using 2 strands of yarn and an N hook, and the other is made using tripple crochets and an H hook. Both are working up very quickly and look beautiful. This book has a nice range of patterns in a variety of styles: ripples, grannies, and mile-a-minutes. Some are very simple and some are more complicated. There are also some baby blankets to make. I think that any crocheter would enjoy this book. Mine is showing wear and tear just because I have so often flipped through the pages, admiring and planning projects that I would like to make.

Rating: Summary: Afghans for everybody Review: This is the first afghan crochet book I ever bought and it spoiled me. I love that it has a color photo of each afghan on the page facing the pattern. The variety is wonderful. It has an afghan for your every need. I wish every afghan pattern book were set up like this one.
