Review: OK - I've had this book for months! I keep intending to write a review but I keep re-reading the book. Every time I pick up the book and think I'll write about one aspect, I find something else that I'd like to focus on. Reviews are supposed to be short and helpful. For a serious gemologist, this book has enough scientific details (including tests for identification) to help one identify genuine natural-based gem materials and how to identify the imitations. For the jeweler or jewelry collector, this book provides historical and cultural information on the use of natural gem materials. For the photography buff, this book's photos are fine examples of close-up photography. This is a MUST for any serious gemologist/jewelry collector.
