Rating: Summary: Nice step by step layout Review: As a new homeowner, and a new resident of PA, this book has been exactly what I needed. It clearly shows step by step what needs to be done when, from when to seed a lawn to when water plants can go into the pond. It has helped me tremendously in learning some basics of garden care, as well as the particular growing cycles of my newly adopted home.
Rating: Summary: Nice step by step layout Review: I was very excited to purchase this book when i read it was about the Pennsylania area. Our state! My area has a short warm season. This being the reason I wanted to learn about plants that do well in my town. Well I was not as excisted once I began to read. The book left me alittle disappointed. Hoping for a better summary of what is best to plant. It is broken down in to month by month catagories ie. annuals, trees, rose etc. Basically repeating the same info over and over from section to section. I would have really injoyed some visual pictures. This would have sparked some greater depth to the book. Needless to say, this book doesn't teach me anything more than I already know.
