Rating: Summary: a comprehensive plane modelling guide Review: I liked the good organization of the book: cockpit, engines, landing gear, wiring, how to remove and reattach kit parts, etc. Several good techniques are taught on the book.On the negative side, the book tends to leave on the reader the sensation that lots of specialized tools are needed for the hobby, and I regret the constant references to specific comercial firms.
Rating: Summary: You could not find better than this book in modeling area. Review: I only make 1/72 scaled mordern airplane model. I've refered this book much although it devoed to 1/48 scale. Even you don't like aircraft modeling, It can help you to get an interest in the model aircraft. I will order other modeling books written by Mr.Ashey.
Rating: Summary: great ideas and tips for all Review: Mr. Ashey seems to know what he's talking about. This book covers a wide range of topics centered around altering and adding detail to your models. Lots of techniques for begginers to advanced modelers with simple tips to create the effects you want. He sometimes uses tools that most of us don't have, and doesn't always explain their uses, (i.e. working w/ resin and superglue) but on the whole a Very informative book. I would suggest it for anyone who wants to get more out of their model than what comes in the box.

Rating: Summary: Hit and miss Review: This book is good if you're the kind of modeler who wants to buy a lot of after-market accessories for your kits. Also, the author builds 1/32 scale aircraft almost exclusively. Smaller scales are completely ignored. Keeping these things in mind, the book will certainly be useful to persons who are doing this type of kit building. If you just want to do the best you can with what comes in the box, then buy a Paul Boyer book.
Rating: Summary: Disappointed Review: This book looks very good for someone building plastic model airplanes. It is worthless for a scratch builder of balsa models (which I am).
