Rating: Summary: Won't gather dust on the shelf Review: "Looking for accurate, user-friendly information about feline matters? Need a quick answer to a cat care question? Wondering whether kitty's condition can be treated at home or requires immediate veterinary care? Look no further than The Purina Encyclopedia of Cat Care, a compendium of useful knowledge. A veteran pet writer and former veterinary technician, Amy Shojai has compiled a thorough, well-cross-referenced volume. Appendices provide additional association, breed, symptomology and resource information. Here's one reference book that won't gather dust on your shelf. Its practical tone and solid information will come in handy time after time. --"Media Cats" review, Cats Magazine
Rating: Summary: Comprehensive Review: "Thank you so very much for The Purina Encyclopedia of Cat Care. The book is an easy-to-read and comprehensive text. Every cat owner should have a copy in his or her library." --H. Ellen Whiteley, D.V.M., author of Understanding and Training Your Cat or Kitten
Rating: Summary: Save on Veterinarian Visits Review: If I'd had The Purina Encyclopedia of Cat Care, by Amy D. Shojai just a day or two sooner, I could have saved myself a veterinarian's bill. Our Abyssinian tabby managed to escape the confines of the house for a romp in the big world. She brought an unwelcome guest home with her--a tick. For what the vet call cost, I could have bought this book. It would have paid for itself. And more importantly, what the vet told us to do is exactly what was suggested in the book. The Purina Encyclopedia of Cat Care is by far one of the more comprehensive works on the subject that I have read. Shojai gives good common sense advice and information about both cat care and cat behavior. There is a quick reference for medical problems that is easy to use and quite helpful. I would heartily recommend any cat owner place a copy of this book on their bookshelf for quick reference. --By Leta Nolan Childers
