Summary: Enlightening, but not terribly practical
Review: Some really neat ideas here, but most don't seem very simple to execute. I wanted some ideas for punching up my pre-made lampshades or maybe creating simple fabric lampshades, but the projects in this book are a bit more convoluted. There are some inspiring lamps and shades, but to make some of them require special materials and skills that would involve more time and effort than I'm willing to spend.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Revamp those lamps!
Review: The cover-art gives you a sampling of the eclectic styles offered in this compendium on lamp and shade making. Inside, you will find a gallery filled with versatile ideas to fit your own style. The projects are all relatively simple, with easy to follow step-by-step photographs. Using a variety of crafting techniques such as papier mache, beading, mosaic, stained glass and decoupage - your options expand far from paper and fabric alone. I also appreciate the list of distributors in the back for those hard-to-find materials.
