I think her tips and tricks are most useful, and certainly pertain to those of us who collect and sell costume jewelry, collectibles, and antiques. I have used this book almost daily for research and tips and caring for my treasures and those who go to collectors. I'm looking forward to many more by this wonderful author!

Summary: Helpful advice, with hilarious anecdotes
Review: I have just finished reading the book, so I haven't had the occasion to try any of the methods for cleaning or repairing my treasures, yet! The book is a great read, though, and it reminded me so much of the kind of homey advice I would get from my own grandmother. JKS has found a wonderful blend of useful advice and great story-telling.

Review: I have read numerous books about collecting, trying to gain some more knowledge in this field. None have been as informative, useful and most importantly accessible as this one. After watching Ms. Judith on as many of her television appearances as I could over the years, I knew she would score high on my list with this book. The scope of her practical knowledge about all things collectible is incredible, but she has a (knick)knack for sharing all this information in such an engaging, entertaining manner that I read this book as much for her anecdotal short stories as for the actual hints. I have already saved several items from my collections using her methods. When can we expect another book from this author? I love her writing.

Summary: Junkaholics and Collectomaniacs Need This Book
Review: I purchased this book as I use to watch Judith Katz-Schwartz on the FX Collectibles Show. She would show how to clean up items with normal household items and that fascinated me. I have had the book for awhile but just recently got the chance to test out a technique. Someone gave me an old brass fan and her simple method for cleaning it up works! Sure there is some time involved and some elbow grease, but hey, the fan was free! Buy this book. It is a great read and a great reference book. Your treasures will look better than before. Thanks for sharing your tips Judith!

Review: I used the idea of alumunum foil, baking soda and salt on my silver. Got out stuff that I'd not been able to clean in years.
Great idea for large pieces, or doing a set of flatware all at once.

Summary: JUDITH SAVES THE DAY AND TICKLES YOUR FUNNY BONE
Review: If only all "how to" books were written with Judith's great passion for collectibles mixed with her wonderful sense of humor. Ms. Judith whips up some great recipes from her kitchen to save us time and money! I'm reading this book cover to cover and the next auction I go to I will be ready to buy that not so perfect thing and try a Judith concoction to give it a new life! Thank you for a wonderful read and some great advice!

Review: Not in my 13 years of reading antique related reading have I enjoyed a book as much as Judith Katz-Schwartz's Protecting Your Collectible Treasures: Secrets of a Collecting Diva. In addition to smart, inexpensive ways to clean, store, repair and care for all your treasures from paper to metal and glass to lace, the book is loaded with hysterical antedotes that make it a delightful as well as informative read.
